Call for Applications: Women Entrepreneurs Accelerate Africa (WEAA) Project
Port Harcourt and Lagos, Nigeria – June 2026 — Boss Babes Nigeria, in collaboration with leading academic and industry partners, has announced the launch of the Women Entrepreneurs Accelerate Africa (WEAA) Project, a transformative initiative designed to support the growth and scaling of women-led businesses across Nigeria.
The programme aims to train and empower over 200 women entrepreneurs through high-impact workshops focused on business development, capacity building, and strategic networking. The first cohort will commence with the Port Harcourt edition scheduled for 16-19th June 2026.
The WEAA Project is delivered through a strong consortium of global and institutional partners, including the Gordon Institute of Business Science (University of Pretoria), Argyle IT & Education, Pan-Atlantic University, Mizani Innovation Hub, and Boss Babes Nigeria/Scotland. The initiative is proudly sponsored by Robert Gordon University, United Kingdom.
The training workshop will provide participants with practical tools, knowledge, and access to networks necessary to accelerate business growth, enhance competitiveness, and position women entrepreneurs for long-term success. Similar initiatives have demonstrated that structured training, networking opportunities, and access to resources are critical to enabling women-led enterprises to scale and contribute to economic development.
Organisers emphasise that the WEAA Project represents a unique opportunity for women entrepreneurs committed to growth, innovation, and business expansion, particularly in an increasingly competitive and dynamic economic landscape. Evidence from similar programmes across Nigeria highlights the importance of targeted capacity-building initiatives in strengthening women-led businesses and fostering inclusive economic growth.
